Our Story

About Rangefinder Excavation

A West Texas excavation and dirt work contractor built on straightforward work, honest pricing, and equipment that gets the job done right.

Since 2018

Rangefinder Excavation started in 2018 with a simple idea: West Texas landowners, ranchers, and builders deserve a dirt work contractor who shows up when they say they will, grades it right the first time, and explains the “why” behind the work instead of just running equipment.

Since then we've graded ranch roads, built stock ponds, prepped commercial pads, and cleared land across the Permian Basin — from Lubbock down to Fort Stockton, Pecos across to Abilene, and everywhere in between. The work looks different from job to job, but the standard doesn't change.

We're still a crew that knows the caliche, clay, and rock of this part of Texas, and still willing to drive the extra miles it takes to get to a remote ranch gate.

What We Value

Do It Right the First Time

We'd rather take an extra half-day getting the grade and compaction right than come back to fix a washout six months later.

Show Up When We Say

West Texas properties are often remote. We plan around that and communicate clearly instead of leaving you guessing.

Straight Talk, Straight Pricing

We scope the job up front, explain the why behind our recommendations, and don't pad the bill with surprise add-ons.

Built for the Long Haul

We've been running since 2018 because customers call us back for the next project. That's the only metric that matters.

Our Equipment

We run a fleet sized for real West Texas dirt work — excavators, dozers, motor graders, and haul trucks — matched to the job, whether that's a ranch-scale road or a commercial pad site.

  • • Excavators for trenching, culvert work, and pond construction
  • • Dozers for land clearing, grading, and pad construction
  • • Motor graders for roads, driveways, and finish grading
  • • Haul trucks for material delivery and site balancing
  • • Compaction equipment for base and dam construction
